There's an undeniable fusion of controlled infective opposition and civic demobilization at the heart of every polemic. Preferences have been hijacked and covertly conflated into divisive biases. The transmutation of accessible visibility has reduced and hollowed out image and opinion into performative ineffective virtue signals. Heavy handed neo-guilded age cameralists continue to stack the deck and hand out the scripts with or without the cognitive consent of the masses.
We, one and all, are being Managed.
Political theorist Sheldon Wolin posited several vastly pertinent concepts we could all construe as prescient here in 2026, though none are out of place before, during, or disparagingly so, after. In his 2003 critique of American political structure, titled 'Democracy Incorporated: Managed Democracy and the Spectre of Totalitarianism', Wolin gave us an erudite and sobering assessment of the results of twentieth century corporate consolidation of government entities and the psychosocial inertia barreling and spiraling into where, I and many believe, we have found ourselves today; though there's a fair argument fleshed out in Wolin's work to demonstrate that the template for Inverted Totalitarianism has been carved into the fabric of the American system exponentially for decades. To have an objective approach to just how entrenched into the realms of neo-serfdom we may have already become, I suggest finding a copy for the coming winter ahead. Consider it somewhat of a shorthand manual of how we got here.
And,
You're all bugged.
